1943 Lincoln wheat (steel) penny, minted in San Francisco. Composition: zinc coated steel, Condition: lightly circulated. 1943 was the only year the government minted coins out of steel to conserve copper for the war effort. Steel pennies were minted at all 3 mints - Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco.
