2004-2006 Westward Journey Nickel Series
Includes 10 Nickels.
The first nickel depicts the peace medal presented to Native American chiefs as tokens of goodwill. The second is a view of the keelboat in full sail that transported the Expedition through the Louisiana Territory. In 2005, American bison returned to the coin and the second one is a scene of the Pacific Ocean. The last nickel minted in 2006 depicts Monticello on the back as it has been since 1938. Three different faces of Jefferson are featured. There is a Denver and Philadelphia Mint of each nickel in the series.
