Framed GAR color certificate lists all his battle and rank accomplishments, summarized as active military war exploits, Enlisted in 1861 for 3 year service as 1st Lieutenant in  Company F, 49th Regiment of Pennsylvania Vol Infantry, promoted to Quartermaster in 1862, re enlisted as Veteran in 1864 and served unitl the end of the war, was a member of Gen McCall Post No 31 G.A.R. Westchester PA. Certificate beautifully framed, with vignettes of various war service scenes, and a cameo of President Lincoln below an eagle and flag crest (35"x29" frame) and beautiful oval hand painted photo portrait of Gray in full uniform (some surface dimples, 34"x29" oval ogee frame)
