Bronze Sculpture "Cheyenne" By Frederic Remington marked commissioned as Memorial to first Secretary of the Navy
originally cast in 1901, this replica commissioned as memorial to Benjamin Stoddert, the first secretary of the Navy, dated 1904, displayed at the Louisiana purchase exposition of that year to commemorate the departure of the great white fleet and the undertaking of the Panama Canal by the US. the bronze itself is 19" tall, 20" long, mounted on a marble base.
